Could only assume cause one will hinder the other.
In raid both drives will operate as fast as the slowest one.

If you raid0 them (bad fucking idea) then whole thing will be faster. If you raid1 them, write will be slower, but random reads will be faster.
You could partition each in half, and then make raid0 /fast_storage and raid1 /secure_storage too :D

OTOH I wouldn't RAID it either, except for professional use. I'd just give them separate mount points or maybe JBOD. Waste of $$/GB otherwise
