I enjoyed playing it when I had someone to play with. Kind of boring playing alone, as I'm far from any poke-stop or gym, live in a dead zone where nothing spawns, and don't regularly go anywhere with one.

Nope, but try Ingress instead and you will never be able to escape from it.
