Does anyone have any advice on contributing to open source? I just graduated from college with a BS in Computer Science so thats all the background I have. Just want to contribute and learn new things and become a better programmer but I'm not sure where to start. Or even what kind of project to work on for my skill level.

Some big opensource projects, like OpenStack, have mentorship programs for people new to the project. It might be useful to choose a project that has something like that.

are those ones easier to contribute to though?

They do rank their current issues so it's easy to find issues that are good for a new contributor to work on. How easy you find contributing is probably going to depend on what technologies you are familiar with.

just make various useful discord bots in c#

pretty easy and simple to learn on

plus im sure you play some game with some group of friends that you could use discord as voip and find use of a bot in some way
