Yeah i think its sad that we didnt see a whole lot of the key fights, but if i had to guess he was told he had x amount of chapters left and just couldnt showcase everything.
But overall the random guy winning didnt bother me. I think the point of the final arc was that a whole lot of people trained and were talented, but almost never bothered to fight. And in the end they all came together and enjoyed themselves fighting all out with nothing really on the line. I agree with your points but for me it didnt really ruin it.
