1. That's actually a terrible analogy.
2. Were hybrid runewords and imports what made Diablo 2 famous? Didn't those not come around until much later?
3. How big actually were the types of items I mentioned a part of the history that made D2 famous? A vast majority of the playerbase were casuals who enjoyed the game for its intended design. Only a very small percentage of the population had access to these items. Those of us remaining 16 years later quoting "HISTORY! HISTORY!" are people who want to preserve their previous investments or protect their inherent advantage over others who did not have the opportunity to horde said items. At least, that's how I see it.



What about occy ring or constricting ring? Where are those?

Blizzard has screwed up everything they've done since the blizz north team all quit, what makes you think they'll do something major to the game that people would like?

i would be willing to put money on it saying if so many people over the years and years didnt quit there wouldnt still be a few around just like all the others. blizzard got rid of most stuff but the things that are still around are proof that anything could have still been if not just expired

yes you have me on the hybrid stuff, they are freaks of nature. that being said why would the rob the already thriving community of something they are use to? honestly they will prob adopt it and make it part of game play make them lose value.
also as a casual player you would know that many 08's imports and bug'd items have been around since when the game exploded and didn't become really rare until about 5-7 years ago when the community started dying off
