Our government is an oligarchy run by big business, the main person in charge is rupurt murdoch, he managed to sabotage a 40 billion dollar broadband network for his own benefit.

Adani is building the mine, but rupurt is strongly backing it through his media empire.
As to the broadband, our left wing party was creating a fibre to the home network at 100 meg across the entire country, murdoch helped get the conservatives elected and they made it a fibre to the node system at 20 megs across the country and it ended up costing the same amount.
Rupurt did this because he owns foxtel which is our major pay tv provider and he does not like competition like netflix.

Yeah I guess he's the prick that took to the courts to get the pirate bay and other torrent sites banned in Aus. Well, made a little harder to get to anyway.
