You're not? You can get a pretty good estimate of the size of earth by just knowing the distance between two cities and the difference in the shadow angles at the same time of day

Just because Eratosthenes said the earth was a globe in 350 bc doesn't mean the entire world believed it or knew it.

Second of all lf there was no twitter or published newspapers back then, and the Library at Alexandria was destroyed and there is no surviving copy of any of his assumptions.

Thirdly if everyone knew the earth was a ball of 25,000 miles 2500 years ago - then why did it take them 2000 years to go a find it? Its a nice story but i wouldn't put my absolute faith in like you do.



Since the pythagorean theorem for the supposed curve of the ear is 8 inches per mile squared but since this is actually the amount our perspective is affected - i'm guessing since 90 feet is .017th of a mile - the answer would probably be in the thousandths of an inch.

This is the exact same assumption that Eratosthenes made, that the sun must be far away and the earth is curved - you get the exact same results if the sun is small and close and the earth is flat - this method is entirely ambiguous - although it is rather revealing of your motives that the base of your entire belief system is based solely on an incorrect assumption and one that ultimately is proved wrong but this is probably to hard for you to understand.

You have yet to explain why light curves in 3d perspective, so it's still your ball park to explain why even though there's an unobscured straight line between me and the sun I can't see it.

I'll give you a hint though, it doesn't, and light behaves the same way in 2d as 3d because 3d is literally just 2d slices stacked on each other.
