So I figure:

1. It is all lies and negativity is one way to disguise and cover these lies up
2. There is a seperate, intentional intent also: always giving a person negativity is an attempt to overwhelm him and deplete him adaptive energy

We focus on what's bad, and take for granted what's good.

People keep complaining about bad safety, bad economy, bad fiscal situations, bad health care, and all that jazz, while these things are (almost undeniably) better than th have ever been in the history of mankind.

There are people that naturally fall into different categories of personality and thought that are, by definition, at odds with each other. Conservatives and liberals, Muslims and Jews, US and Russia, Authoritarian rule and democratic rule, believers in climate change and climate change deniers, etc. You could argue they aren't opposed by definition, but I'm using the term loosely and in modern politics those divisions are evident.

People are forthright with their opinions and are generally unwilling to change them; even in light of new evidence, even when they're wrong. How many times in pard have you changed someone's view on an issue drastically? How many times have you changed the mind of an ideologue?

I stopped watching the news and television years ago. But I realized people enjoy watching the misery of others. I don't unless it's my enemies. Human nature? Well if I manage to shut that bullshit off, anyone can do it. There is no negativity. It is just another point of view. But too many people are unaware of what they are doing. They are blissfully watching the news like it is a normal thing.They don't even question it. The real problem is ignorance.
