We need more mitch hedbergs and steve hoffstetters and less hicks and carlin wannabes.
Only person who does political humor i enjoy right now is jim jeffries.

Not a fan of Jefferies.

Hedberg was amazing though. Steven Wright is in my top 3 favorite comedians of all time and he was a big influence on Hedberg.

I am aussie so i pretty much am jeffries, just about anyone from queensland where i grew up has the same sense of humor you get from jim.
But he is not even fit to lace hedbergs boots.

My top 3 are:
Mitch hedberg
Jimmy carr
Bill burr

Lol yeah I get it if you're Aussie. Jefferies certainly isn't bad and he's definitely made me laugh out loud more than a few times but his political stuff can be grating to me even when I agree.

Political comedy in general is just a pet peeve of mine because it always comes across as preachy. Very rarely does it not, and when it doesn't it's because the comedian is clearly not picking a side and it's usually excellent material.

Mine are:

1. Norm MacDonald
2. Steven Wright
3. George Carlin

Bill Burr is definitely one of my favorites. Louis C.K. is up there but I think he's a better filmmaker than comedian (Louie, Horace and Pete, two of my top 3 favorite TV shows of all time along with The Wire).

Jimmy Carr is awesome too. I'm a really big fan of British panel shows, he hosts 8 Out of 10 Cats, but more importantly 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown which is one of my favorites, it's fucking hilarious.

Sadly, there is no replacement for George Carlin.

/e It'll probably be a while before another comic genius like GC comes around. :/
