They cast a symbolic vote. They could have symbolically shown that every single member of the Democratic Party is ready to play ball on Single Payer. Then it would be a matter of getting to work talking to a handful of moderate Republicans. Instead they showed that almost every single member of the Democratic Party is ready to be partisan, vote against their base, and defend anti-progressive fucking corporatist Obamacare.
