Making this thread for those with opinions on how it can be improved from last year's thread: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=74862169&f=204

I thought last year's SB auction went pretty well. It benefited from the largess of Guards, a donation from Tannehill, and a bidding war for the Falcons between Tx6 and some lesser fan, but even besides all of that, the pot size was bigger than the two previous years. I think the calendar received generally positive reviews from non-regulars, which was good for bringing in more interest (forum gold) from people who don't frequent this forum and who are only interested in a few teams, so I plan to do that again.

One thing that we could consider changing is the payouts. I think giving out a percentage of the pot to a team in the midrange, like in the 5 to 16 range, might be a good idea. It would give incentive to bid on teams that have little chance of making the SB or earning the #1 overall pick.

Any other thoughts are welcome.

Maybe the first team out of the playoffs? Or maybe take 10% or whatever percent and split that between any team that has a certain record? Like 8-8?

I don't like awarding a midrange pick.

For superbowl and #1 overall you can make legitimate guesses or choices. I feel you're just throwing darts at a board if going for someone in the middle

Still though, it spaces out rewards and will actually increase the overall pot with more bids on teams that would otherwise go cheap.

You certainly can't be as bad as whoever made that abomination you've got on now.

Why not the 9th overall in each conference, aka the team that missed out on the playoffs.
