More like the last 5 or 6, it's all been slow and incremental since sandy bridge. Intel always does this shit when AMD's uncompetitive, they just release a new cpu that's 10% faster than the last one every six months and just watch the money pour in.

If intel released 6 or 8 core cpus when fx series came out or gave huge ipc gains they would Be finding/fining themselves in hot water for anticompetitive and monopolizing
Hence why we prolly havent see huge ipc gains more cores or even 10nm from intel,
