144Hz monitors (the decent ones) run at a larger price range. Like $400 and up...if they are IPS panels, they will cost even more.

These are all the IPS 2560 x 1440 monitors...

You could find a lower resolution one...cheaper., but not much. TN panels are cheaper as well, but then...less image quality.

Is it necessary to get that high of resolution though?

Or in other words is it worth to drop $300-$400 with my current build for a monitor? I probably won't upgrade my gfx card for a few months at least

That's a tough call. A GTX 1070 will drive a 2560 x 1440 monitor.

If your current monitor works...I would get a better grfx card first.

/e P.S. The RAM will be a bit faster running in dual channel, like it's supposed to. :)

Fixed the RAM lol

But yeah I have heard that both ways. Not worth upgrading GFX card with my current monitor and vice versa. I guess I need to buck up on both of them

I just want to play in better quality. Just seems like im wasting my CPU power with a shitty monitor

What?

Your monitor is fine for your gpu

Doesn't make sense to buy 1440 at this point

Would you suggest like Ghot to just upgrade my gfx card then? I was thinking a 1060 rather than a 1070...haven't really decided how much i want to spend

Yes to the first point

But going from where you're at to a 1060...meh

Figure out what you want to spend imo, then you can decide where to spend it

Perhaps a used 1070

for ips 5 ms isnt that bad.. ?

4-6ms is regular for IPS panels. TN 1-2ms.

RAM Dual-channel only provides faster services for multitasking and tasks like video-transcoding. For gaming Dual-Channel has almost no effect.

Still might as well do it when he has two sticks in the system.
