Here, do this first. Also, list the games you play.

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

IF you have TWO sticks of RAM, then you have them in the wrong slots. Two sticks of RAM should read dual-channel.

They should be in slots 2 & 4...counting away from the CPU towards the right. The RAM sticks should go in the lighter colored slots.

Ok, what is the max. you can spend on a monitor?

/e ...and do you think you'll want a vid card to go with it?

144Hz monitors (the decent ones) run at a larger price range. Like $400 and up...if they are IPS panels, they will cost even more.

These are all the IPS 2560 x 1440 monitors...

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#r=256001440&H=120,240&p=1&sort=price&page=1

You could find a lower resolution one...cheaper., but not much. TN panels are cheaper as well, but then...less image quality.
