When attempting to start my computer it displays 5 horizontal lines at the top left that are blue (this is normal) then it quickly distorts after a few seconds to a rainbow of colors in lines at the very top of the screen (can get pictures if needed but it's pretty self-explanatory. I think I'm lookin to buy a new hd if that is the case and I'd like an ssd but it can't be too expensive. What should I look for in a ssd? Brand etc.

Even though everything loads except when it goes to load windows? How can one be so sure. Going to try loading off of a different source in a bit if I can find something else to boot off of

take a picture, but from what you described i'm like 99.9% sure.

/edit
I'm so sure cause I do this shit for a living, and have for years now.
But i guess that counts for nothing here.

going to stick with my suggestion its the gpu.
if its not the gpu its psu/cpu/mobo and has nothing to do with hd.

AT this poitn I suggest you try booting into safe mode and hope is software and not hardware issue related to gpu

I'm trying to figure out how to boot into safe mode atm, will see what happens then.

Edit: Don't know what happened but now appears my gpu has died. It stopped making anything show up on my computer screen and fan isn't spinning. Taking it out to try and clean it a little and then see what happens.

1050ti

If you can spend more I'd go as far as a 1070 and a new psu.

My current will support these though?
