Sad state of affairs then imo.

I mean the movie was ok, just ok. Plot wise, nothing ground breaking and it was a little too obvious/easy to figure out. Never felt like i was watching a horror though.

Acting was solid though, i remember thinking that.

Thought it was a snoozefest.

Could have been better, the 3-4 cheap jump scares felt pretty forced just to sell it as a horror movie. The gore/splatter scenes towards the ending didn't work for me either.
I liked some of the social satire but those were pretty obvious, would have liked it a little more subtle and smarter.

Yeah I realy don't care about critics but maybe everyone felt starved in terms of a decent horror movie. Since I don't count movies with cheap jump scares, this was probably the best that we can get. So everyone lost it and praised it as the best film ever made.

It was rated high because of the social/political issues/racism - Hollywood EATS that shit up. It could have been the worst or best movie ever and I could have told you the ratings before the critics watched the film.

It was an average/okay movie. Not even close to mentioning with the best.

I said it was a solid movie, you don't need to cry that it doesn't fit your standards.

Additionally, this movie has way more thriller elements than horror, and that was obvious just by the initial trailer.

Im not the one who's saying don't breathe is the best movie ever, though I found it very enjoyable.
