870 miles they teleported a packet of information.

It's all very complicated, and deals with quantum entanglement.

There are dozens of other sources on this. Pretty cool stuff.

Are you just repeating things I say to people?

This is actual science, photon teleportation is nothing new, have you never heard of Quantum nonlocality?

I see you, hiding, I know who you are. I am from the future.

There is an obvious difference between quantum teleportation utilising quantum entanglement and the way many news websites are portraying it - I saw one article featuring an image of the TARDIS.

Not a dig at you, I was just making fun of the people who believe we'll be beaming up to space and back any time soon.

Not a single article is saying that, sure some of the titles are eye grabbers. But who cares, as long as actual information and news in the article is sound?

I do see your point though, But at the same time, I don't disagree with the eye grab tactic, as long as it remains exclusive to the title.

It's hard to get peoples attention when it comes to this stuff, especially if they need to read or look at any form of math.

"why do you keep trying to read that word? -Idiocracy.

Article says:

"Entangled photons can't interact with anything else on the way to their destination, because once they do, their states have been "observed"
– revealed by the interaction. Hence, the teleportation doesn't work if the photons are observed before they get to their destination. "

Classic way of hiding you words in plain sight - no can see the experiment or observe it - lolol

nice faith in pseudoscience!

Please move this post to the Joker section or something more appropriate.

"Observe" in quantum mechanics has a different definition than how you are using it.

Nobody is looking at this experiment with the naked eye in the first place. Observe basically means measured, and since you are working with such small systems by measuring it you significantly disrupt the system destroying the experiment.

I'm guessing you mean sultan. He messaged me, asking me to post a response for him - Chivas posted it
