Are you looking at AAA games or just random steam games?
Any early access? Need to know so we can put more focus on gpu if needed.

$850 is a bit restrictive actually. Might need to increase budget or tell us how into 3D rendering you need the PC to be.

Overwatch, PUBG which I know is pretty un-optimized, anyways I would like a pretty nice gpu for future games as well.

Really comes down to what you're willing to sacrifice. Imo, that would be the watercooler and more $$

Hard to squeeze gpus into sub $1000 builds as they are still overpriced due to crypto miners :(

As far as well balanced, build should exceed 3D rendering requirement by quite a bit but still fall short on gaming requirements if you're looking at early access games.

Alright, let's go with no rendering but exclusively gaming.
i5-7600k seems to be a better choice then ryzen 1600 for the same price give or take.
