Anyone have suggestions for 1440p monitors up in Canada? Shit seems to cost an arm and a leg nowadays.

Both are Canada prices.

If you have Nvidia card get a monitor with Gsync....If AMD card, get one with freesync

No GPU yet; am looking at 1070's mainly though.

E/ Yeah, $500 for a monitor. Then add in the GPU, shit's getting costly man. FML may just have to settle with 1080 and upgrade later...

On those two links above...at the left side of the web page, scroll down and choose Gsync, for a 1070 or similar Nvidia card.

If you play a lot of first person shooter games, get from the bottom link...the ones with the faster refresh rate.

See edit.

Only FPS game I'd be playing is CSGO and CoD (Console)

For FPS games get the monitors with the higher refresh rates and the lowest response time. These will also work for other types of games.

For an Nvidia card the best monitor you can get is an IPS panel with 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time...with Gsync. These tend to cost more.

Yeah; I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I thought a budget of $2k CAD would get me a nice 1440p but monitors + GPU's + everything else ate that 2k up real fast.

Well then.... let's start over...

1. What parts or peripherals do you need?
2. What is you absolute maximum budget?

I need GPU + SSD + Keyboard + Monitor.

Have CPU, MOBO, PSU, RAM, HDD, Mouse, Headphones, case, OS.

CPU- Ryzen 7 1700
Mobo - B350
PSU 650w
Ram- 2400mhz ddr4
hdd- 1tb

Spent about 1k total on all components so far including tax.

No absolute max but I would have liked to stay under 2k. Apparently etherium is dropping (Today took a big hit) so GPUs might come down
