Well hello folks. I have a little issue.
My corsair H100i v2 keeps frigging "falling off"
It's not falling off per say but every few days, especially after an Intense gaming session, I'll randomly get heat spikes. After a wee bit o' tinkering around, I found my heatsink was loose by about two turns on each screw. And since then, it's happened twice.... each time I see it pop to roughly 130f and I'll know what's up, screw them down and I'm back to 77f. My question. Is idk if it's the standoff or the nut. And was curious if someone could recommend an impermanent glue or something like plumbers tape that's non conductive and safe enough for both ends of the standoff. Or maybe a better solution

130f is not okay, are you drunk? 55c at idle is nuts, id open a tab practically hit 70c, let alone the noise....
and the second is evident.

but on another note, plumbers tape is non conductive, now i just need to see average heat temps.... but given that water heaters and such CAN (not do) push water as hot as 150 or more

great idea
do you think that the tension needed to lock them exceeds the pressure that could damage my board in any way?

Well if you get the huge strong ones...then yeah. But they have smaller ones that take far less pressure to lock.

hahaha truest speak ever spoke...
im not exactly a patient person, mostly because people defy logic but i honestly stick to instore pickup for almost everything. every decent promo is buried under 12 tons of shit in the loft and takes a half hour to sort through
