Do you know anyone who's mechanically inclined? Very well possible if you change the timing chain and water pump, that car is good for another 150k miles.

Does it have any sort of noticeable "knock" while under acceleration or cold start?

i do most of my own work. lol. with that being said. yes their is a knock under light acceleration. but i also haven't pulled the valve cover off yet to look at it. water pump and timing chain are already new about 12k ago by old owner. the put the car to the side when the alt went out and just let it sit the last year. i mean i have already done brakes, tune up,a/c, alt . im wanting to pull the valve cover off this weekend to get a look at it. if its to bad ill buy a new head and just put it on. but i also have been driving the car the last almost 200 miles and the knock doesn't get worse. i may just throw a better oil in it with some addadtive like marval. and see if it stops it.
