Did all the widow grind on extreme and a bunch of stages as well. I started doing the arena for PvP badges to buy legendary nodes but realized the grind was going to be too much for me. The daily/weekly/monthly rewards are pretty nice for someone willing to put in the time.

Its easier than League grinding nodes/champions since they share currency. You get a ton of medals from missions and and 5v5. Can play mini games too which is the fastest way.

You get nodes pretty quickly if you play 5 v 5s so I don't think the grind for nodes is bad. Grinding for sol is kind of bad later on because of high exp, but at that point I already have most the masters I want to play anyways. You also get a lot of free xcoins which you can use to buy masters, or dispatch tickets to farm nightmare like what I've been doing.

You get dispatch tickets daily each week which you use to farm SOL on nightmare stages. People are just impatient.
