For determining the place you could get an independent person to rank players from say 1-300 or so.

And each player would be worth set amount of points.

for example purposes:

MJ - 300 points
Lebron - 299 points
Bird - 298 points
Colby - 297 points

Etc etc and so on.

Once the draft is finished, the independent ranker could give us their list and we tally up which team has the highest rating based on points

It's obviously a big ask to rank 300 or more players so a portion of the pot could be allowed for that person to do it.

nah because that assumes that production is independent of team makeup, etc.

Make a ruling that you have to draft all positions first then all bench positions ?

Idk but it seems the fairest way of doing it. People will just vote who they like more
