I agree with Chris, it's done in every sport.

Only thing you possibly couldve done top is sneaking into lane after finishing your topside jung for the countergank. Its very clear rammus will be ganking there first and if hes 1 of 2 people you expect to carry the game i think investing a short amount of time there would not have killed you.
