i am trying to learn how to use EASEUS. i have rebooted my pc like 4 or 5 times now. and am back at square 1. i accidentally made too large of a partition, and then i removed part of that partition. and then the part i removed became "unallocated space". and i wasnt able to merge that unallocated space back to the main bigger chunk of space. i was only able to merge that unallocated space to where it was just taken from. so i guess i cannot freely move partitions around and merge them. they have to be "next" to each other?

so you are saying to make a partition for 200 GB using EASEUS. then use Acronis to only backup my OS onto that partition?

No. Shrink the OS partition to 200GB. Use EaseUS to do that. The for the rest of the drive that the OS is on...just make another partition to use up the rest of that HDD.

On the 4TB drive...make a 300GB partition for storing backups on, make a 1TB partition, and just leave it blank. Make a 3rd partition with w/e space is left, and use that for Media.

you don't need to partition the storage drive to store an image on it.
you can make back ups that are a bit for bit back up.

whats a bit for bit back up?

i think the partition is because of this :

/e Here's another way to look at it. For what you want to do there are two options....

1. Use backup software, or use RAID 1.

Meant to say you can make images that "are not" a bit for bit back up.
Bit for bit implies every 1 and 0 is copied exactly including empty space.

Meaning your 1tb drive would not equate to a 1tb image unless the drive was full.
Not only is this more ideal for space but its also a much faster way of making images.
