How do you think the Golden Knights will do in their first season?

I am excited to see a new team made up of castaways and prospects. It should add an interesting dynamic to the league.

Should have waited till they draft and have a solid roster.



But if they draft guys like fluery, Bobby ryan, Neal I think they won't be the worst team in the league. Probably playoff fringe

I wanted people to go out on a limb and discuss how well they would do before the team was selected lol.

But this thread can stay for discussions after the fact as well.

Personally I think all of the castaways will play with a high level of passion due to bitterness of being seen as not important enough to protect.

I am predicting they finish 9th-10th and have a strong second half as the team starts to gel.

Compare bobby Ryan , James Neal and vatenen to mckannin, landeskog, duschesne & Barrie. Colorado should be doing ok too but they are not.

I think vegas will liquidate several of the better players they pick for draft picks.
Vegas will be competitive using a trap system suited to a team of 3/4 th liners. But lose a lot of 1goal games and finish near the bottom of league.

If they pick Fleury, Neal, Vatanen, Methot, Marchessault, that's a few decent players.

But the game plan for them is to build through the entry draft, this expansion draft is just to get as many picks as they can. They're just stocking up.

They'll also pick young players to build-on, so I don't expect them to be any good anytime soon

They could be better than VAN, COL and ARI regardless of what their roster looks like. All 4 teams will likely be trash.

Colorado want even necessarily a horrible roster.
They just played so freaking awful. Like really bad play lol. Almost astonishing.

In all reality, avs are young and talented. Need to get their coaching in line in a hurry from outsider perspective. And ofc they need D and some help in net.

As for LV, I'll say middle of the pack for teams that miss the playoffs.
I think goaltending is going to carry them through some tough games. They're also in a division with some weak links.
They could beat on Arizona right out of the gate
