Part of the learning curve of core is utilizing and interpreting what your map/hud means. It directly impacts the routes I take and without it I might be taking an unnecessary/redundant route that a teammate my already be occupying. I often try to get away from my teammates as much as possible to manipulate enemy spawns. I'm obviously not always looking at it and go on game sense, but I think the learning curve of the map adds a level of skill as opposed to the elevated level of luck involved without it.
I'm a fan of fast time to kill (TTK) CoDs, because I think it benefits the better player. The person with faster reactions wins more often than not, even against campers. A slower TTK nerfs dropshotting by allowing the enemy more time to strafe. Snap reactions like a dropshot/jumpshot counter campers, because they are often paired with hip firing in sudden altercations. If a less accurate hipfire is paired with a slow TTK, then the camper will win more often than not. Ultra fast TTK in HC negates reaction time for the most part, removing another level of skill. Due to the fragility of life in HC, it tends to make people camp more.
That being said, it's possible to do well in HC if you're a good player, but I think SC widens the skill gap more.
