I'm wondering if one of my sticks is bad, refer to the pictures.

When you bought the RAM, did it come in a 4 stick set, or a two stick set?

Also, what CPU and motherboard do you have?

I would just turn XMP ...off.
Then, manually set the RAM frequency and timings in the BIOS.

/e As for it only showing 3 sticks, when all 4 are installed...it's probably one bad stick. At least for the SPD info.

In the future...always try to get the total amount of RAM you desire...in a TWO stick set.

that's what I have done. with the last bios f3 I couldn't get above 2666 but the new one got me up to 2933 with lower timings. but I'm afraid that one of my sticks is bad and if it is I need to rma or exchange it before its to late.

would corsair customer service be able to tell if its shit and if I whould rma.

See my edit above. Corsair is really nice and helpful when RMAing memory.

/e Also, the F4e BIOS that you have now is still a BETA Bios. It may just be that the BIOS itself is still a bit wonky.

/ee It looks like you have 4 sticks of 8GB per stick RAM.
Try the sticks in sets of TWO only, installed as per your motherboard manual. That way if you do have one bad stick...it'll show up.

If we label your RAM sticks A, B, C, D ...then test them like this...

A and B
A and C
A and D
B and C
B and D
C and D

See if you can get the bad stick to show up, as not installed...again. If you can't then the problem is the BIOS or the motherboard.
If it's the motherboard, then I would suspect one of the RAM slots...at least initially.

Play around with your memory timings, raise volts and disable xmp. You don't want that anyway if Ur gonna OC the cpu.

Got myself ab350 gaming 3 w/ rgb corsair 3000hz rams,
Xmp defaults it at 3000 w/ 16-17 cas. I manually chose to set them down to 14-15 cas, over 3200 17 cas

According to the downloadable motherboard manual, and the specs for the CPU itself....that CPU/mobo combo can only do 2667Mhz naturally.

BUT, this is a new CPU and a new chipset. So you should expect a few issues. Especially with a BETA BIOS.

iirc Giagabye doesn't get it's BIOS shyt, together, until the F5 BIOS.

/e Like secksii said...

IF all the sticks are working properly, then just tweaking the RAM settings in the BIOS, will most probably get you the readings you desire.

I will do this after work tonight and let you know what I find. (ive been having the strange readings on one stick sence day 1 I just got more worried about it lately because I know
many people with the same memory and board that are hitting 3600+

this is where the other people are. http://www.overclock.net/t/1625822/gigabyte-ga-ax370-gaming-k7-discussion
its a shitload to read. there is a search function for the thread I belive,
