So I started talking to an old friend a while back, I've known her since we both started in elementary school and stopped speaking since the 6th grade, and I had invited her to go out and it was cool to finally talk with someone as smart and "real" as her. Anywho, we got into a discussion about how her coworkers were super surprised she was never in a relationship and had a BF to which I replied with something along the lines of her being super fun and smart and i'm surprised to. She then said she wanted someone but wasn't interested by anyone, feelsbadman, so a day later I asked her and the convo went like this
Me: "I know you said you weren't interested by anyone but would you be down to go on a date before you leave to study abroad for 4 months?"
Her: "Sorry my eng isn't so good, you mean with you or someone?"
Me: "with me :)"
Her: "Oh sorry I thought it was clear that you weren't the type of guy I'm into"

As cold and savage as that was it felt soooooo much better than "You're a nice guy and deserve the best girl so we should stay friends" it also made me happy that she didn't play around and was straight with me.

Just wanted to put that out there, no point behind this post.

Yeah, I hear you, its always better to just put yourself out there. Get it over with and women will respect you more because of it if you do it properly.

One tip, which I mentioned in another thread. Sounds like you need to clean up your game though. (I realize you're just trying to blow off some steam)

Lack of confidence, its subtle, but look at the difference between what you said and, "Hey, when are you free to get together?"
You s9und incredibly unsure in comparison. You should naturally assume women want you, without being arrogant or until they've made it clear they don't want you.

Sometimes that can be the difference between a kept and broken date.
