Does it matter what server i pick, whats the server everyone goes to?
Is there a Guild i can join to join people and make it funner
Is elemental good for pretty much everything?

There is no difference which class you pick, everything depends on your skills.
Meta events are for 40-50+ players anyway.
You can swap servers (as a guest) if You have full acc (original GW or HoT, not free2play version)

In my opinion I'd try to get into which ever server is dominating WvW simply because it makes map exploration easier and gives some benefits to the server.
