He is my best friend, I lost my first cat literally a year and 12 days ago today and I'm not ready to lose this one too.
Any advice that has worked for anyone in the past? I need to find him

Put some food out by the door. A litterbox is also a good way to lure them back.

If anything, make posters and staple them to lightposts and stuff like that.

I lost my cat for 29 days and someone called me saying they had her in a kennel because they saw one of my posters.

I hope you find him... It's a terrible feeling not knowing. Best of wishes

Thanks, ya I put the litter box outside and am working on a flyer now... He has a collar with his name and my phone number on it though so I don't possibly know what could of happened. Ive called the police department 3 times but there has been no reports of a dead cat on the road anywhere!
He never strays far from my house...

He's most likely just adventuring. What kind of area are you in? City/country/etc
The collar will definitely be a big help if someone finds him. But nobody will know he is "Missing" if they dont see a poster since cats roam and most people don't care.
They'll just be like "Oh a cat doing his thing" instead of "OMG that's the missing cat"

My cat "ran" away for 5 days and he was just out in some bushes in towards the back of my house the entire time -.-
But I live in a country ish setting and there's quite a few trees/bushes that he lays around in.

Edit: I have 5 of these "Cat" things living with me.

City, but he never explores and always comes inside within an hour or 2 at most after letting him out.
I made flyers going to put them up now

Good luck. My parents cat lives outside. Most nights the call ring a bell and it comes running into the garage. But not always, they have gone a few days before.


And sounds dumb, do you have a garage or shed? My cat got locked in our shed like 15 years ago. Took a few days to find it. Late one night we heard it meowing and located it. It never been in there before, but must have run in with the lawn mower or something.

Also, do you have anything that makes the kitty come? Like if I shake a Laser Pointer, the chain makes her come running pretty much anywhere in the house. Might be worth a shot going it at night or when its not to loud outside.

The chain on a laser pointer I can attest when jingled, 2 of my 5 cats come running.
The other ones are just lazy. I use a treat bag or anything crinkly for them.
Even aluminum foil works.

I snap the lid of their soft cat food and they usually will come running from a block away, I walked for 4 hours in the rain with his soft cat food trying it but still nothing

Got the flyers all hung up in gas stations and stuff... It's just that I know him so well he chases birds in the yard and will occassionally cross the street, my other cat is a wanderer but not Sage
