If you had to name the best supplements that anyone could benefit from, what would they be?

I think there are a lot of fads in the health market and some of the supplements don't bring they benefits they promise, so i want to know which ones of them are indeed functional.

with a balanced diet, literally nothing for the average human...

People been doing this for thousands of years, the supplement industry just became a billion dollar industry in the past 10 years, corresponding nicely with the rising obesity rates

What does that tell you?

I totally understand that we have not taken supplements for the whole history of human kind and that a good diet can be enough. But i wonder if there are some supplements that could be helpful to the average person who may not have a super b diet.
Today's soil or meat may not have the quality it had centuries ago. There's a possibility many people could be lacking on an essential vitamin or mineral, for example Vitamin D, which of us no longer produce enough because we are under a roof all day.

I am mostly interested in boosting my energy and concentration levels throughout the day. I want to be more productive at work. Not much interested in bulking or gaining muscular strength.
