bought an ssd finally, and was going to clone it, but cloning requires a sata to usb cable apparently which does not come with this $180 product.

is there any way to clone without buying more shit?

Assuming a desktop computer...

Just hook up the SSD and then clone from w/e other drive. ??

/e Shouldn't need Sata to USB cable.

fuck the instructions, connect both drive internally.
clone with clonezilla or any other cloning software.
Make sure the new drives "larger" then the old one to clone.

I'm going from a 2tb hd to a 500gb ssd, is that a problem? Friend said as long as it can hold all of what I have it's fine.

The drive you are cloning, needs to have it's partition...."shrunk" so it will "fit" on the SSD.

/e As friend said: Drive size doesn't matter...amount of data does.

The amount of data that you are cloning, needs to "fit" on the SSD

So no problems as it's 320gb of data I'm cloning then right?

You're fine.
Just use some 3rd party cloning software and ...do it.

EaseUS Partition Master, Clonezilla, Mini Tools Partition Wizard....etc.
