Just finished watching it. Don't really know how I feel about it. On the one hand I'm glad something like Blame! finally got an anime (probably Knights of Sidonia had something to do with that), but on the other hand this is way too little to feel satisfied about.

I've been a huge fan of the manga for years, and to be honest, this adaptation does it no justice. If you've never read the manga, you'll probably enjoy this though. I hope this is a succes though, it might prompt the start of a Blame! anime series. (Or even an Abara movie, a man can hope...).

Care to elaborate on why it wasn't what you hoped it'd be?

I dunno mon.

The manga relies heavily on visual storytelling, and has little dialogue. Feel like the characters in the anime were way too chatty.
Also, the fact that it's a movie and not a series is disappointing. The anime only touches on a small part of the manga. Feel like the best locations and villains were not shown.

It's not bad by any means, but it could've been so much more.

I definitely would pick it up if it were to come as a series
