Go to cruzetalk and post your issues there. You can link up with a GM corporate service concierge who will help manage your case.

Posted @ Sonic, after eliminating all basic stuff I could I had to bring it into the shop, which was recommended anyways.

Turns out there is a fault/short INSIDE of the alternator, which is why the car will charge sometimes, but will not charge others, and is causing the power loss under strain.

Check your wiring diagram and locate the flux capacitor. Un plug any leads on it and use a multi meter to check how many micofarrads it reads.

I believe it should read 1.21 Gigawatts if I'm not mistaken.

just an fyi, if any solenoids are "breaking off" it's a clear indicator of your engine mounts.
See if that is what may have lead to the alternator failing. Every symptom has a causation.

also "defective" statistics are just that, statistics, probability that you may not be part of. If you try to use a different brand alternator and problem returns, there's something else causing the problem.
Better to nip it in the bud then long-term trial and error.
