took out 2 patch panels, and hooked cat 6 direct into the fiber box to the router, now getting about 500 down and 900 up on ookla but testmy.net is still showing super low speed, can they severs even under higher speeds?

testmy.net is showing the same exact speed but other sites are showing better FYI

VA, USA.

verizon fiber,

Verizon's tech guy installed the box and had a cat6 going into a patch panel that went out to a cat5e, into another patch panel that ran into cat5e into the router then to my compute cat6. After moving the rest of my stuff into my new apartment. I undid all of that and ran a cat6 straight to my computer and got way better speeds but still cant push anything on testmy.net or any other speed test tools i have tried but ookla.

I am experiencing better quality and speed, except there is no true way to "test" this except testmy.net says i get average 13Mbps up, but I know for a fact that I have hit up to 300Mbps now when I put up a test apache server and done a download of a 10Gb file onto a server with 1Gbps.

Now the question is.

Is there any decent speed test tools that actually can show speeds except ookla that are made for gigabit connections? I tried a few different speed tests but nothing goes over ~!100 down and ~10 up. Which I think maybe dued to their servers not able to handle higher speeds?

EDIT:

I stream twitch OBS studio for testing - 14,000 Kbps = 14 Mbps? Correct? I do not know twitchs max upload speed?

Try the Weston, WV server at Speedtest.net

/e This site has a speed test, that can handle those speeds. But it's best to run the speed test at like 2am in the morning.

Naw, but certain areas are used more heavily than others. Congestion.

That used to be my go to site for speed tests. But it's been a few years.

Now I use Weston, WV, from Pittsburgh, PA. I get the best reading there. The Ookla server in Pittsburgh is so congested, I get crap reading at that server.

/e When I go to Verizon Online and run their speed test, it auto chooses a server in Reston, VA. It seems to give me accurate readings...but because it's Verizon...I always check somewhere else too.

It's at the bottom of the page, under the Tools heading in lower right corner.

/ee I've been a Verizon customer for 16 years. Never had any complaints.

/eee Here's another NDT server to try. It's at Rutgers University, in NJ.
