This guy seriously knows what he's talking about and I agree with everything he picked out for you, but if you have room for a double din check out this stereo https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH4200NEX-Receiver-Motorized-Bluetooth/dp/B01D6HPMZQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495254385&sr=8-1&keywords=pioneer%204200nex

I ordered the 4100nex from https://www.soundoftristate.com/pioneer-avh-4100nex (cheaper than amazon and got here in 2 days) and they sent me a 4200nex (an extra 100-150 dollar stereo maybe they made a mistake). The 4100/4200nex has apple car play and android auto as well so you can hook up your phone via the usb and get navigation and all that fun stuff.

Edit: didn't read your budget disregard my stereo recommendation

My current setup is 4 6x8 rockford fosgate p1683
2 alpine type R 12s (dual 4 at 1 ohm wired)
audiopipe 1500.d1 pushing the 2 12s
pioneer 4200nex receiver

total for my setup came in around $1000 and installed it myself (probably would have been at least double to pay someone)

Another edit. If you decide to grab the audiopipe 1500.d1 amp, it only has 4 gauge power/ground in so you will need to grab some gauge converters if you decide to go with 1/0 gauge. I got the converters from knukonceptz and had to grind and polish them so they would fit in the power/ground inputs on the audiopipe amp. The amp is an absolute beast for it's price I recommend it. Doesn't run hot at all after playing for several hours continuously with the gain at 40%. If you haven't already, go check out a video on how to set your gains using a multimeter based off the RMS/Ohm configuration of your subs it will keep you from clipping.

Damn.. $1000 seems kinda steep for that setup..

The kits I linked for Knu had prices. By the time you buy wire, fuse holder, rca's, connectors etc. you'll be at more money going with the welding wire vs knu konceptz. Also like I stated before the Audiopipe won't accept 0/1 so you'll end up cutting it down to size which is pointless. Also working with welding cable can a complete PITA since it doesn't flex as easy as regular wire. It's upto TC but I'd suggest just sticking to KnuKonceptz kits, if you want 0 gauge they have a 0 gauge option as well, but it won't fit in that amp.

He can just trim the zero to fit the 4... It doesn't hurt anything.

But if he has to trim it whats the point in running and paying more for 0 gauge? lol like i said he can buy welders 0 and have a pita trying to route it just to trim the end off and gain nothing over the 4 gauge, be my guest, theres NO reason to run more than 4 gauge to a 1500RMS amplifier, I've ran 4 gauge on 2300RMS before with no melts, hot wires or performance loss.

I always run bigger than needed.. Noone is ever satisfied with their setup long. I'm sure he will upgrade soon enough. I wouldn't go with welding cable. I'd go with knu kollosal flex or however you spell it. Shits like a wet noodle.

Ofc is much better you're right. Cca however wouldn't be a issue with what he's trying to do...

Nothing wrong with CCA the only difference is CCA can corrode much quicker, yet I've ran CCA as my big 3 for 5+ years in same vehicle with no issues. Considering the cost of OFC and his setup would be kind of dumb for him to buy OFC over CCA.

I mean if he plans to upgrade sure, but if not it would be a waste of money. Not everyone wants to get louder, 2 12's on 1200RMS is quite loud for most people.
