Ideology and party are synonymous. True, good, better on some level are also synonymous in this context.
Saying something like "more likely" has an inherent subjective flavor to it.
One is measurable. You can look at American history and economics, education, markets, winning wars, influence, etc, all do better under Democratic presidents.
