The legislative elections are going to be very exciting. Will be interesting to see if EM, which barely has no national structure and has no tradition, can repeat such a good result. The way the elections work, Macron could either face a parliament that is in favour of him, against him or completely broken in different parties.

People might vote for EM to allow Macron to have an easy run, or they might vote other parties and screw him, we'll see. In any case the traditional parties like PS and Les Republicans might be in a hard situtation... they tried moving away from the center in these elections and they now realized that Mélenchon and Le Pen already had a solid voter base in the ends of the spectrum. Now if they try to go back to the center they'll crash into the party of the president of the republic.

It will also be interesting to see who Macron chooses as candidate for Prime Minister. Putting someone closer to the left or to the right could cause a shift that could either help or hurt the party. Probably the safest option is to have someone like Bayrou that has a long history of being non-aligned.

from what i could gather its more or less tradition in france that the people try to vote in a way that provides the new president with a parliament that can actually do things, which is a good thing

but with the country being so divided right now, i am not so sure this time ^^
there so many "wildcard"
what will those actually hating macron who only wanted to prevent le pen do? what about right and left wing? overall voter turnout could also be a thing and i heard the number of void votes reached an all time high in this election
and will enough people trust the guys who macron is "drafting" right now

Well keep in mind that Macron was the most voted candidate in the first round, so even if most of the people who voted him in the second round only did so because they didn't want Le Pen, he still had a solid base of voters who preferred him above every other candidate. The question is if he can transfer that base to vote for his party in the legislative elections.

French socialists will probably riot and throw tantrums, hopefully these tantrums will turn into their refusal to vote.
