I'm nowhere near an expert, the only thing I consider myself an expert at is eating food. I grew up watching my grandma cook and from then have come accustomed to all types of food. One of my best friends growing up, Thai/Cambodian, worked at his parents restaurant and I learned to love oriental cuisine.

My recipes will vary from basic to somewhat difficult and I'll try to share my preparations for each meal I post.

Grub tough or hate.

I didn't get any pictures because I'm that kind of person but I made New England style clam chowder the other day. Turned out amazing.

Clams - I used razor clams, about 25-30 clams, but you can use canned
6-8 strips of bacon
7-8 potatoes
5-7 stalks of celery
1 medium onion
1-2 cloves of garlic
2 cups milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups water - from the potatoes
2 bay leaves

Cut bacon into small pieces and cook till crispy.

Dice up the onions and celery and cook in the bacon grease until the onions are translucent. Add the garlic here.

Combine the onion, celery, garlic with the bacon in a big pot and add the milk, cream, and clam juice and simmer on low.

Cube the potatoes and boil for about 10 minutes. Add the potatoes and 1.5 cups of water to the cream.

Add the bay leaves and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Cut up the clams and add them. Simmer for another 15 minutes.

I prefer my chowder to be thick so I made a blond roux and added it towards the end.

Going to caramelize the onions.
The chops are hand cut from a tenderloin.

Baking it for 10-15 minutes @ 325.
Going to pair it with some fresh beans and brown jasmine rice.

Boneless chicken thighs soaking up marinade.
Bbqing these tonight, not sure on the vegetable though. Going to have potato salad and maybe some fresh fruit since it's super nice out.

The marinade is:

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
12oz Root Beer
5 green onions
5 garlic cloves
1tsp ground ginger
Sesame seeds (optional)

Mix all ingredients and place chicken inside.
Allow them to soak it up for at least 24 hours. (Mine are at 2.5 days)
