The PPL 6x a week split has Squats , leg press , leg extensions , hammy curls and calves on leg day. I was wondering if I should do lunges instead of leg press ?

I hear leg press is almost useless.

Anything that's not on a machine is better.. Lunges work your legs on top of your core.. Leg presses work your ego.

Out of all the exercises you listed, leg press is the second best, behind squats

Squats are the best if performed correctly
Leg press is second best, it's a close variation to the squat in terms of muscles, the movement itself and its ability to overload

Sure as fuk u ain't squatting well with all your dumbass threads so scrap the squat and do more leg press. Dead srs. Unless your goal is to have a good squat, in that case squat away

I'm all for the argument that free weights > machine weights
But consider this

Lifter a.)
Squats on Monday. Leg press's on Thursday

Lifter b.)
Squats on Monday. Does lunges on Thursday

1) who will have bigger legs?
2) who will have a bigger squat?

Edit: inb4 tear says 1x week training is superior

Probably the lunger. People hardly ever push themselves on lazy leg press
