As of right now, I would have to say my most favorite anime is "Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation." If you enjoy anime that allows you to become immersed in a fantastic world of magic where anything is possible if you truly believe in yourself, then I recommend it highly. I think you in particular will enjoy the dynamic interplay between the antagonist Dark Heart and the protagonist bears. I'm on my 5th viewing in just the last week and can honestly say it's one of the best anime movies I've ever seen, up there with the classics Studio Gibli has produced.

Claymore is old but decent, forgettable. Death note isn't even action. Best action right now is hero academia. Best action in recent memory is hxh.

While AoT and One Punch Man are going, a horribly written and boring show is the best action anime. Seems legit. You save a bit of face by giving HxH the nod, although, you said recent memory, which is idiotic, since the original is older than a lot of the people on this forum.
