completely different architecture, you can compare intel to intel because it's basically been the exact same arch refined for many years. Ryzen is a completely different core. Bulldozer made sacrifices in IPC for higher clock speeds, including eliminating an entire ALU per core, opting for dual 128-bit FMAC's instead of native 256-bit, etc. All for clocks. It's apples and oranges.
Bulldozer didnt even have 8 cores, it was 4 modules with CMT, That would be relevant if clock speeds were directly comparable since Ryzen is a true 8 core.
the FTC should have got on their ass for marketing it as an 8-core.
