That i said the game was rated as "Mature 16+" and i was 13 years old back then?
That Rations on Movies, Games , Music,ect .... that authors make is to tell the Parents that they must not allow their kids to play that game if their kids are under 16 years old , but such strict parents exist very rarely about 10% of all parents in the world are super strict on their children!

Not at all what it's meant for, it's just meant to dictate who can walk up to the cash register with and purchase the product. How it's consumed afterwards is not dictated by the ESRB rating.
They are suggesting at best in that regard.

In elementary school I got addicted to Runescape and pking, when I got my birthday money in the 6th grade I bought the D2 set that came with all of the games and strategy books and ever since I was hooked. Huhu

why on TV show and movies on TV there is a warning sign with a certain age 12/16/18 before they start??
Because they warn parents to not let their children to watch that upcoming program

"Simon , this upcoming program is not for you, now please go to your room!"

because there is already a law requiring people be id'd to buy them? the company in accordance with the FCC guidelines determines which products are appropriate for which ages because it's subjective, cigarettes or alcohol aren't subjective they are an objective class. but some brands do have age restrictions on the label.



we do them quite often actually. different games at different times.

My personal favorite was the MANGOS vanilla WoW server i set up that we 10man'd with fresh lvl 60s through a bunch of fun dungeons in greens. was a bitch to get 10 dudes tho

Started on single player cuz my parents didn't want me to play with other people on an internet based game being like 10 years old at the time
So I secretly made an online b.net account and I don't think they ever found out even now

Two quick points.

the rating is required by law in some countries, which is the ONLY reason it is on there. it has NOTHING to do with the target audience the product was intended to be sold to. Many movies, games, shows and tangible products are made for children but sold as "adult-only" to satisfy American society's demand that companies make a token effort to protect children.



Two, please don't use cigarettes to justify your argument. You're making the same basic mistake. The target audience of cigarette marketing is children. Few adults pick up smoking. Most new customers come from 11-16 range so marketing is geared towards the same age group that d2 was.
