Hello there, we changed our server racks at my work
So i got access to many scsi hdd drives.
Is there any dirt cheap adapter/controller so i could add a few in my home desktop?
Ive read that a raid controller will be the first thing i need.
On some chinese sites and on threebay i saw some adapters from scsi to sata, do those work ?

the controller cards are not cheap

not sure how large the HDDs are but it would probably just be cheaper (and a lot easier) to buy your own HDD

i think the idea here is that he gets not just a HDD but a raid going which is quite a bit faster

The raid controllers are only needed if you want to raid even then most standard boards can handle basic raid arrarys.
HOWEVER there are cheaper converters so you can use standard sata connectors and get much cheaper raid cards,
I don't know the names/brands etc but here's a pic of one of mine. tbh these 15k rpm drives are not that fast and you
still want ssd's is speed matters at all to you for this build.
