Currently running an msi z97m gaming mobo which is a micro atx mobo and is still ddr3 so only current ram I would like to upgrade to is the trident Z because it's the only rgb upgradable ram that is compatible

Current ram are 2x 4 gigs g. Skill ripjaws

So basically question is is it worth the price upgrading to 2x 8 gigs of ram of the trident Z's? Yes I know just alone the upgrade to 16 gigs is worth it but is the "rgb-ness" worth the price?

Plz and thx as always (no wrong answer just want to know if it will even be faster given its still ddr3... If that matters? #nublyfe)

Somehow I feel you already know the answer you just want validation.
But I guess i'd say something like...
Its aesthetics, so you need to decide if looks matter to you and if its worth the price point.

rgb is known to make RAM faster, linustechtips confirmed it. Has to do with the tiny emp generated by the lights speeding up data paths in the silicon, not by much and certainly not by enough to change the displayed timings but it adds around 1-3 fps to every game and shaves about a second on the minute off of any sort of encoding or compression.

It operates on the principle that as ram speeds increase, more voltage is required to maintain higher speeds, but the higher ambient electromagnetism causes the amount of voltage needed to reach those higher saturation points to lower much like how increasing the external pressure on an air-filled balloon that's about to pop will bring it further from popping by shrinking it.

Enjoy your purchase.

Hmm that is a good question.. The only one that gives me ponderance
But I'm probably gonna try to milk that thing til it dries then give it to my little brother to play with and see if he gets into pc's too
So probably for a good while down the road

And to answer ur question art... Honestly it's about the only thing that I do with my pc... Just look at it :/ rip busy life
