I made cornbread yesterday, along with boneless chicken breasts marinated in buttermilk/pepper/paprika/sea salt/brown sugar for 38 hours. The breading was just self rising flour, italian bread crumbs, cracked pepper, sea salt, adobo powder and egg.
Cornbread was artha white's sweet yellow, instead of using milk, I used half and half, it makes the cornbread sweeter. Also added clover honey. Topped with real butter. Cooked in an iron skillet.
that sounds amazing bro!
i'm gonna hit my Dad up for his cornbread recipe that he got from my Aunt Sue!
i don't know the exact recipe but i know they used 1/2 white and 1/2 yellow corn meal and i think buttermilk but the rest i'm not sure on. it's not a sweet cornbread at all but i do love sweet cornbread too!
edit: Dad cooked it in a cast iron pan in the oven!
