Former US Vice President Al Gore said on Friday that there were "excellent chances" that the United States will not leave the Paris climate accord despite the threats from Donald Trump.

"I think there is a good chance, well above 50/50, that the United States will decide to stay," said the former Nobel Peace Prize winner for his climate efforts."

The author of the film "An Inconvenient Truth", which had sounded the alert ten years ago about the dangers of climate change, suggested that the economic stakes could weigh on the decision of the Trump administration.




"Jobs in the solar sector are growing at a rate seventeen times that of job creation in general," Gore said.
