Id say this is probably quite true, in my own life I excelled in school until my parents divorced. But that could be coincidental, since they divorced when I was 13 and had just started experimenting with partying lol

I think it's definitely to do with parenting, probably goes beyond parents income though.

Social environment kids grown up in: parenting skills, friends/ppl kids grow up with (social/economics) and expectations of the environment plays a part as well.

When someone sais it's culture, you'd have to include cultural expectations from the environment ppl grow up in, as well as the importance of learning within the cultural environment ppl grow up in.

for Asians, this is higher than for white ppl, for Hispanics and Afros it's lower, in general.
Ofc it's different from person to person, hence, we should not focus too much on it, or expectations of the environment will drop making it a self fulfilling prophecy.

Per Washington Post:
Asian - 88%
White - 86%
Hispanic - 73%
Black - 69%

Why do Blacks and Hispanics have lower graduation rates compared to Asians and Whites?
Is it income based of parents?
Is it cultural?

Curious what this forum thinks.

It's poverty. And nothing else...

Would that promote more wealth equality (socialism) to raise the average in a country ?

Its all cultural, asian families care and expect more from their kid's future

Might be intelligence as well, but there arent any studies on avg intelligence (as it relates to the pace of acquiring and using new information) by race that im aware of.
