I wouldn't suggest going 1 hand-shield, because 1) barb has way enough life 2) your damage will be very low just my 2 cents gl

Yeah dps would would be an issue if I dont find a monster of an axe in Nightmare.

Could always craft an axe! I did on my Avenger and got a 144% ED Naga which was nice.
